Not sure which tier? HoloQ Author's tier must match the tier of the HoloQ Player devices it's authoring for — a playlist built in a higher tier than your device won't load. See the Products page for a full comparison, or the Deployment notes in Documents.

First-launch security warning is expected. HoloQ Author isn't code-signed yet, so your OS will show a warning the first time you open it — this only needs to be done once per machine.

Windows: click "More info," then "Run anyway."
macOS: double-click the app once — you'll see "'HoloQ Author' Not Opened. Apple could not verify..." — this is expected, just click OK. Then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to find "'HoloQ Author' was blocked to protect your Mac," and click Open Anyway. Confirm with your password or Touch ID when prompted, and it will launch normally from then on.

System requirements

HoloQ Author runs entirely on your local machine — no internet connection is needed after the installer downloads, and no media or playlists are ever uploaded anywhere.
